Coleman Duel Fuel Stove

Coleman Stove Review

My Favorite “heavy duty” Camping Stove

Whenever I think of camping stoves, a picture of the veteran and now famous Green Double Burner Coleman Stove comes to mind. It has been around forever. In fact, I have many friends that own one.

I also have many camping friends that have purchased other stoves, only to come back to The Green Coleman Double Burner. Why is this happening more and more? The reason is very simple.

This stove is “army tough”, easy to operate, easy to maintain, easy to fuel, and the list goes on! Heck, this stove gets better looking with age and it becomes very easy to fall in love with this Green Beauty.

This stove can cook meals all day long, in all weather conditions. The cooking surface has plenty of room for a 12-inch and a 10-inch pan placed on the stovetop at the same time.

These 2 pans can sit simultaneously above the two Band-a-Blu Burners that deliver a total of 17,000 BTU’s of cooking power.

The Dual Fuel Technology gives you the option of using Coleman Liquid Fuel or unleaded gasoline. The unleaded gasoline option is an additional advantage you have at your disposal if you ever run out of Coleman Liquid Fuel.

The WindBlock panels protect your flame from the wind and can be adjusted to accommodate your various pan sizes.

The chrome-plated grate is easily removed after use, for simple and easy cleaning.

The Bad and The Ugly

This stove has been such a great little trooper for me and everyone that I have witnessed using it, that there are very few bad things that I can say about it.

The ONLY complainers are the clumsy and the incompetent.

Once you learn to operate this stove and you maintain it properly, it can take a lot of abuse and it will take a licking and “keep on ticking”.

DO NOT use this stove for indoor cooking!

Use in a well-ventilated environment.

Who Should Own One and Why

Anybody who is involved in day camping, extended recreational site camping, and small boat camping should have one of these stoves. It is also an excellent companion stove for hunting, fishing, and tailgating.

If you own one now, I’m sure you’ll agree that this stove serves its purpose well. If you do not own one, you should seriously consider this model for your next purchase.

Personal Conclusions

My early memories of this “Green Beauty” are etched in my memory.

I can remember my first meal as if it were yesterday. Since we lived on the seacoast, it’s only natural that my first meals were shellfish, lobster, and fin-fish.

So many of my early memories are tied to this stove. I could, in all honesty, say that stove is largely responsible for my never-ending passion for the great outdoors.
